What is Gift Aid?
Believe it or not, there is a way to give more without paying extra, and that is Gift Aid UK.
When you donate using Gift Aid, Aryana Aid can claim an additional 25% on your donation from the UK Government. This means that every £1 donated will turn into £1.25, which is a great way to maximise your charity at no cost to you or us.
Who is eligible for Gift Aid?
Anyone who pays tax on Income or Capital Gains in the UK is eligible for Gift Aid. However, the tax amount expected to be paid within a financial year has to be at least equal to your donation.

How to Start Using Gift Aid?
It’s simple. All you have to do is tick the “Gift Aid” box when you make an online donation on our website. This ensures we can claim the 25% boost on your donation from HMRC.
Imagine—a new wheelchair for a disabled child in Afghanistan is £120. If you can only afford to give £100, Gift Aid will turn it into £125, so we can now purchase the wheelchair, Alhamdulillah!
What happens if your tax status changes or you want to cancel Gift Aid?
You can always cancel your Gift Aid if your circumstances change. Just make sure to notify us that you no longer wish to be part of the scheme—either by calling us at 020 8804 3561 or filing in our contact form.

No donations go towards any administrative costs.
But, that doesn’t mean we don’t have any admin obligations. Funds to pay utility bills and rent, as well as cover accounting, legal costs, and fundraisings are urgently needed to keep the charity running.
So, how does Aryana Aid then cover its administration costs while adhering to a 100% donations policy?
This is where Gift Aid plays an important role. We use some of the tax claimed on donations to finance essential processes that allow Aryana Aid to exist and carry on the good work in Afghanistan.
